The New Trail

There was a new trail. It is off Trail 1 to the left (heading North) at the creek just before Trail 6. It is dead-end this year but plans are in the works to get it back to Trail 2. Everyone who tried it enjoyed the new trail although the views from the top of the hill were uniformly considered less impressive than billed by Robert Meyer. "Views?? What views??"

You had to be in the right spot and look in the right direction.

Fun on the Slopes

Three people broke poles: Buckley, Jim, and David. It was a hard year on equipment.

The Glissade

The glissade was both slower than last year's glare ice on Friday and faster than last year's 8" of new powder on Saturday. It was also safer than last year because they relocated a light pole which was formerly in-between two lanes.

Just Plain Fun

On Friday night, while Cabin #4 enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit, Cabin #3 played cards. On Saturday night, everyone got together in Cabin #3 after dinner for snacks; followed by another game of Back Alley Bridge that even the score keeper (Bruce) couldn't win with Bob Gibbs at the table. Was it because Bob had beginner's luck or just takes his card games seriously?

Linda continued to make sure everyone in her cabin kept warm. Every time the room reached at least 80 degrees, she felt it was time to add more logs to the fire. (Getting outside in the cold sure felt good.) Thanks to Linda it never went out during the entire three days!

Breaking News

The toll booth at the ice bridge over the Ottawa River has raised it's rates to $3.00.

Thanks to Russ and Dorothy for the activity reports.
